The pathway was beautiful
Surrounded by nature’s bounty
The sounds of parrots, and the excitement of kites nesting
And the gentle flitting of butterflies
It was breathtaking.
I walked the path when it was sunny and bright
And the bright orange Gulmohar kept beckoning.
And then it rained heavily
and it was blissful
To watch the rain from the large windows, from the inside
And I went again
To the path..
Still looking at the green around, looking up.
I slipped … and fell
On the green moss that had gathered, slowly but surely
a little each day.
And the path was still the path but now I had to watch my step, look down.
Make sure every step had a firm footing
I also had to hold to the green railing for support
The green of the moss on a hard cement path can be quite tricky
Not to mention dangerous.
I watched how, after falling once and slipping twice and watching a few other people fall
I became cautious.
I didn’t like the feeling of having to think so much
about moving forward.
Rains were beautiful and the moss was natural,
It came with the package of the rest of the green.
A few days later.. the thought of changing
the steep slope down, to small steps came
I think we will implement that,
So that I can still enjoy the green and the moss.
Some paths are like this,
and I have walk one step at a time.
Just like life.
