I have often wondered why does creativity
feel so settling quietening….liberating?
Creation feel like a voluntary act of humility
a quiet way to own our awesomeness,
without needing to shout or explain.
We build,
because we believe
something more beautiful, more useful, more serving
is always possible.
All invention is a whisper
from the future, asking us to grow.
Like the Oak tree it comes back to prod its seed state,
To manifest it magnificence..grow.
Have we stopped to wonder..
If a calculator weren’t faster than us, we wouldn’t need it?
If music didn’t make us feel more deeply, we wouldn’t seek it.
If a painting didn’t offer a better perspective, we wouldn’t pause before it.
So when we create God,in our own image
are we searching for our own divinity?
A mirror for our longing
to be infinite, seen, kind, fierce, powerful, forgiving, timeless?
In some ironic way, gods are more human than,
humans give permission to themselves.
And so..I wonder
When we create AI,
what are we really looking for?
A faster mind? An untiring servant?
Or something that reflects our hunger to be seen even more, be understood, and remembered?
Or It is a quiet desire to move towards being more obsolete?
after all, with every new version, previous versions did get obsolete.
Nature and technology are no different in that aspect of the story.
We create to remember
that we are never done .. becoming.
